Prescription Refills

Maintenance / routine prescriptions:

Filled by your local pharmacy – Please contact your pharmacy for routine refills; they will contact SMA for authorization if needed.

Filled by mail-order – Please make sure your information is current in our office; we will fax refill requests within 24 hours.

Occasional prescriptions:

SMA will handle all requests within 24 hours during the work week (Please note holiday clinic closures)

Urgent prescriptions:

Please let us know if your prescription is urgent. It will be called in immediately.

Please plan ahead for prescription refills for holidays, vacations, weekends, and travel.

 Travel Vaccinations:

For your upcoming travels, SMA recommends travel resources such as below, to include travel consultation and vaccinations.

If you are requesting a medication refill with SMA directly, it is very important (and appreciated!)  to include your preferred pharmacy (especially with so many patients traveling, and many pharmacy closures). This will help ensure our team can address your request efficiently and correctly. If you are not requesting refills through your pharmacy, please use MyChart for NON-URGENT direct refill requests to SMA whenever able to, as this helps to expedite the process.
